From grass-roots

beginnings.

Growing up on the WA coast during the 80s and a 90s, chasing surf comps, festivals, swells and diving adventures in all directions. Surfing, travel, music, fashion, art, skate and the Australian coastal life paints the backdrop in a lot of her fine art, documentary and editorial work.

Now living in Witchcliffe with her family and running Hardware Creative, with Redgate beach close enough to get in the ocean anytime, along with the beautiful Wadandi Track forest.

Working with a range of both private and commercial clients from families and small local ventures to swim labels, surf companies, foodies, artists, athletes, musicians and global brands, Lauren's unique skillset ranges from technical studio photography to artistic branding and location editorial, specialist underwater/open ocean, event, lifestyle, fashion and portrait photography. Freelancing full time for over 14 years, following 10 years in the media industry, her dedicated studio at Hardware Creative was founded five years ago. A career in the beautiful capes region means tourism, hospitality, weddings, viticulture and adventure photography is second nature, along with extensive knowledge of local locations and history, and love and respect for the regions diverse inhabitants.


Her work is strongly influenced by the ocean and surfing culture, with underwater portraiture featuring regularly in her work. She is inspired by the ever-changing beauty of our capes region, raw ocean and nature, the talented creatives of the south west, along with street culture, art, music and films.


Proactive industry partner for many incredible local festivals including Cabin Fever, Fine Vines, Foamlust, Strings Attached WA Guitar Fest, WA Circus Fest, Southbound, Emergence Creative, Margaret River Region Open Studios, as well as presenting Day in the Dust; a music, skate, freestyle motox, bmx, art festival with partnership with Beerfridge.
